Hickory Woods Apartments is a pet-friendly community. We allow up to three pets per apartment. The following pet/breed restrictions apply: Only ONE of the following breed types including full, mixed-breed or derivatives of Staffordshire Terriers, Pit Bull, Pit Bull Terriers, Rottweilers, Chows, Doberman Pinchers, Wolf or any hybrids, Alaskan Malamutes, Presna Canarios, Cane Corso’s, Rodents (including ferrets), or Reptiles, unless the animal is a verifiable certified service or support animal.


The one-time non-refundable Pet Fee is $300 for one pet, $450 for two, or $600 for three. There is a pet charge of $25/month per pet.

QUALIFYING CRITERIA

Touring: Government issued I.D is required to tour. 

Income: Income verification is required during the application process.

Credit/Criminal: Unsatisfactory credit may require additional deposit & criminal background checks are required.

  • What are your office hours?

    Hickory Woods Apartments is open Monday - Friday 9:30am – 5:30pm, Saturday 10:00am – 3:00pm, and closed Sunday.

  • What is the required security deposit?

    Our standard deposit is $250. Depending on your approval status, a higher deposit of $750 or one-month rent may be required. A qualified Guarantor can be used in some instances.

  • What does the restoration fee cover?

    The Application Deposit reserves your apartment during the application process which will become the Non-Refundable Restoration Fee upon the commencement date of the Lease.  At move out, the Restoration Fee covers a basic carpet cleaning and basic cleaning of the apartment. This will not cover excessive costs incurred for cleaning or damages. 

  • Do you allow pets?

    We are a pet-friendly property and we charge a one-time pet fee of $300 for one pet, $450 for two pets, and $600 for three pets (breed restrictions do apply). There is $25 monthly pet rent per pet and we also offer a leash-free “Bark Park” where your furry friends can play all day.

  • Which utilities are included?

    Residents are responsible for water, sewer, trash, electricity and cable/internet/telephone services.

  • Who provides telephone, internet, and cable?

    We partner with Cox Communications and have a representative assigned to our community to assist our residents. Residents are responsible for Cox services.

  • What school district are you in?

  • How many parking spaces does each resident receive?

    We do not have assigned parking, nor do we have parking stickers or guest passes. Thankfully, Hickory Woods Apartments has always had ample amounts of parking, so parking is on a first come first serve basis.

  • How far are you from public transportation?

    Roanoke Valley Metro has a stop at the entrance of the Hickory Woods Apartments community, providing convenient access to the city bus at all times. (Routes 31 and 32).
